This is Elvis & Kresse's Leather Metropolitan Bag: hard-wearing vintage fire-hose and hand-woven rescued Burberry leather are combined beautifully for every sophisticated urban adventure. The contemporary design means you can comfortably carry a 14/15" laptop and the bag has both an internal zip pocket and 2 easy-access poachers pockets. The Metropolitan leather laptop bag can be carried in your hand and also comes with a detachable strap that enables it to be worn comfortably on the shoulder or across the body.
The Metropolitan Bag, part of our Fire & Hide Collection, is crafted through a transformation of leather fragments from the production of Burberry leather goods. Our craftsmen individually cut and hand weave, piece by piece, these otherwise lost scraps of leather into whole new hides. The Fire & Hide Collection is the sumptuous blend of our signature decommissioned fire-hose and rescued leather. The limited nature of our rescued materials means we can only ever create a few pieces in each variation. You can learn more about our leather partnership here.
Every option includes handles and trim in Elvis & Kresse's signature decommissioned fire-hose, which was previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires and saving lives around the UK.

In 2005 we fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose. Determined to save it from landfill we took this lifesaving material home, gave it a second chance, and vowed to donate 50% of the profits to the Fire Fighters Charity. But fire-hose was just the beginning.
Every year, 800,000 tonnes of leather ends up on the cutting room floor. Our leather partners cherish their hides, but no matter how carefully they cut their patterns, there will always be small seemingly unusable offcuts. To rescue this leather we developed a unique modular approach. We hand weave these fragments into whole new hides then lovingly recraft them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Our commitment to rescuing British fire-hoses remains the same, the trim, handles and internal detailing of the Fire & Hide range are all made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose. And we continue to donate 50% of profits to charity.
Our Fire & Hide Collection represents a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.
Fire & Hide - A whole new kind of luxury
Since 2005 we have been rescuing seemingly useless materials and lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits to charities related to those raw materials. 50% of the profits from the Fire & Hide Collection are donated to Barefoot College International and The Fire Fighters Charity.
I love that you produce such amazing products from rescued materials.
The quality of some recycled products isn’t always what you would want or expect, but your are exceptional.
My son in law is a retained fireman and he enjoys receiving your products as much as I enjoy buying them for him.
The complete bonus is the charity aspect. If only more companies could be run with your ethos at the heart of them, the world would be a better place.

I bought the Metropolitan bag for my husband's birthday and managed to get a look at it last night before wrapping it. It looked fantastic and the quality and finish are great – he loves it!
